Kindergarten students continue to work on various websites. Their knowledge and control of the mouse have increased immensely since the beginning of the year. Such an awesome feeling to be a part of their growth.
First grade will play various activities on ABCya.com and HoodaMath.com. The students will also e working on some additional tools in Microsoft Word such as; copy, paste and drag and drop.
Second grade will create a spring slide show using Power Point. The students will present the final projects in front of the rest of the class using the promethean board.
Third—Sixth grade classes will do a mixture of projects that will review the Microsoft products such as
creating gathering data and creating bar graphs to making power point
presentations and using the iPads. The students will also continue their development
Kindergarten students will be accessing, PBSKids.com, MiniMouse.com (mouse skills website) and ABCya.com
First grade will play various activities on ABCya.com and MathPlayground.com. Throughout the month the students will also practice some basic skills in Microsoft Word such as changing the font color and size and how to make a capital letter using the “Shift” key.
Second grade students will begin working on their First Communion Booklet in Microsoft Word.
Third—fifth grade classes will do a mixture of projects that will review the Microsoft products such as gathering data and creating bar graphs as well as making power point presentations.
The sixth grade students are creating a commercial or an advertisement using iMovie on the iPads.
They will also create a presentation in Google Slides where they will have to invite 4 guests for dinner.
Kindergarten students will be working on ABCya and PBSKids.org. We also switch between using the computers and the iPads to work on their fine motor skills.
First grade students continue to work in Microsoft Office and are learning how to use the
various tools such as changing the font style, size, color, and inserting pictures. We also spend time in ABCya on the iPads.
Second—6th grade have been working on the website Code.org. Code.org is a free coding website that allows me to setup up classrooms, and assign age appropriate, and skill level activities. Code, also known as programming, challenges the students to be critical thinkers and creative problem-solvers. It is amazing to watch how quickly the students are able to solve problems, individually or as a group. And it is fun!

Second will be reviewing the tools in Microsoft Word so they will be ready to start creating their First Communion Booklet.
Third Grade will continue to work on their typing skills using Type to Learn and
various typing websites online. They will also be introduced to coding/programming using Code.org.
4th-6th grade will do several activities revolving around coding/programming. A majority of class time will be spent in Code.org, Sketch and the Light Bot app.

Second and third grades are creating a Christmas Power Point and will present it to the rest of the class using the laptop and smart board.
Fourth grade will be working in Excel. Using colors and cell coordinates they will create a
Fifth will be working in Microsoft Word and also creating a Christmas Around the World power point. They will have to research Christmas traditions throughout the world and create a power point to share with the class.
Sixth grade students are creating a website using Weebly. Each student will research one country or location’s Christmas traditions and create a website. The websites will be available to view on my Student Links page.

First grade will begin working in Microsoft Word. The student will learn how to use the various tools such as changing the font style, size, color, etc...They will practice typing in their first and last name as well as learn to use the “Shift” and “Spacebar” keys.
Second grade continue to work on their typing skills with Dance Mat Typing and Typtastic.com.
Third is continues to work on their typing skills in Type to Learn and on various websites.
Fourth grade will be creating a Saints Power Point and will be presenting them to the class.
Fifth and sixth grade students continue to explore and learn all about Google Drive and the wide variety of tools that are available for free. We will also doing some online searching using a kid friendly search engine, KidRex.

Third and fourth grade students will focus on their typing skills using the Type to Learn
Fifth will be introduced to using K12 email and email etiquette and logging into Google Drive.
Sixth will continue to work in K12 email. The student will continue to Google Docs, Drive and Classroom.
August and September
Welcome back! So awesome to see so many smiling faces in the hallways!
Kindergarten students will focus on logging in, learning the parts of the computer and mouse control. The students were introduced to Starfall.com. Their energy is incredible!
In first grade we are reviewing computer parts, working on their point and click capability and practicing logging in and out of the computer. We will also discuss Internet safety.
Second – Sixth Grades will be discussing Internet safety and reviewing the parts of the computer. They will also be working on the definitions of various technology terms and the function and use of computers and technology in their every day lives.
I also have the 5th and 6th grade students for an extra 30 minutes. This time will be used for learning Spanish using the Duolingo App on the iPads. We also have been singing the Spanish alphabet.
